Zamfara: NSCDC, NCoS collaborate to reduce crime

The Zamfara State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, has assured of collaboration with the Nigerian Correctional Service, NCoS, in a bid to reduce crime in the state.

This was contained in a statement issued by the spokesman of the Command, ASCII Umar Mohammad and made available to newsmen in Gusau.

According the to the statement, the Commandant, Sani Mustapha disclosed this during a courtesy visit by Comptroller, Nigerian Correctional Service, NCoS, Ibrahim Shehu.

Mustapha reaffirmed his commitment to ensuring that national assets and infrastructure in the state are effectively secured.

“Security agencies must cooperate to achieve their mandates by protecting lives and properties of the people of the state,” he added.

The statement further stated that earlier, the Controller, Nigeria Correctional Service, Ibrahim Shehu said he was at the NSCDC headquarters to further seek the Corps’ collaboration in heightening security at custodial centres.

He said that the visit aimed at farmiliarising, intimating and maintenance of the already existing relationship between the two organizations to reduce crime and thwart sabotage.
