Zamfara: I inherited over N13bn pension, gratuity backlogs – Gov Lawal

Governor of Zamfara State, Dauda Lawal has revealed that his administration inherited over thirteen billion Naira pension and gratuity backlogs from the previous governments.

The Governor disclosed this on Wednesday during his one year anniversary ceremony in Gusau, the State capital.

According to him, from inception of his administration to date, he has settled over N5 billion pension and gratuity backlogs.

“I inherited over thirteen billion Naira pension and gratuity backlog from the previous governments starting from 2012.

“I settled over five billion Naira pension and gratuity backlogs within one year in office and I will make sure every retired civil servant gets their gratuity and pension backlogs,” he said.

Speaking further, Lawal reiterated that his administration was working round the clock to rescue the state socially and economically.

“The sectors of security, education, youth empowerment, agriculture, health care, and good governance will continue to receive much emphasis as part of my administration’s rescue mission,” he assured.

The Governor appealed to the people of the state to remain law abiding citizens and support the good policies and programs of his administration to actualise its dream.
