Zamfara govt inaugurates committee to clear backlog of gratuities from 2015 to 2017

Governor of Zamfara State, Dauda Lawal has inaugurated a committee involving the Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC and the Trade Union Congress, TUC in the state for the payment of the backlog of gratuity of civil servants ranging from 2015, 2016 and 2017.

According to a statement issued by the State NLC Acting Secretary, Ahmed Abubakar, the affected persons would meet at the Ministry of Finance on Saturday, the 27th. Jan. 2024.

The Governor directed those affected to come along with authenticated documents certifying their retirement from office.

“The local government retirees from 2011, 2012 and 2013 are to meet at the Ministry for Local Government & Chieftaincy Affairs on the same date, same time with the same documents for the same purpose”, the statement added.

“Part of what is needed during the verification exercise includes the approved computed pay slip, notification of retirement, Identification cards and bank account details”

“We therefore at this juncture urge every affected person(s) to please ensure full cooperation and participation to achieve this laudable task.”

“While appreciating the Governor for this surprise gesture, we pray Allah to keep guiding him and help achieve his set targets to uplift Zamfara State.”
