Zamfara: FRSC seeks training partnership with fire service

The Zamfara State Sector Command of the Federal Roads Safety Corps, FRSC, has demanded collaboration with the State Fire Service.

The demand was made by state FRSC sector commandant, Umar Massaudu, during a courtesy visit to the director of the Zamfara State Fire Service Board, Abdullahi Jibbo, in Gusau, the state capital.

According to the FRSC sector commandant, part of the reason behind the visit was to establish collaboration on training and retraining of FRSC personnel on firefighting for effective rescue of accident victims.

Massaudu further stated that sometimes road crashes involve fire outbreaks, and the personnel would be helpless because of a lack of skills to operate firefighting tools. He appealed to the State Fire Service to help the corps with fire extinguishers and other firefighting tools.

Responding, the director of Zamfara State Fire Service, Abdulahi Jibbo, assured that he would grant the request and give total support and cooperation to the FRSC command.
