The Taraba State Command of the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) has announced that it has placed its officers and personnel on high alert to ensure a smooth and secure Yuletide season throughout the state.
Police Commissioner Joseph O. Eribo conveyed this assurance through a press statement released on Saturday, as reported by the command’s spokesperson, Usman Abdullahi.
According to the statement, the command has implemented adequate security arrangements before, during, and after the festive celebrations.
Eribo issued a directive to area commanders, divisional police officers, and tactical commanders, instructing them to ensure comprehensive security measures are in place throughout the Yuletide period.
The commissioner assured the people of Taraba that security arrangements, including the deployment of personnel and operational assets to worship centers, have been made.
The statement stressed the deployment of visibility patrols across the state to promote a peaceful and successful celebration.
Citizens were urged to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities. The commissioner highlighted the ban on the use of fireworks and firecrackers during the festive season and advised parents to monitor their children, cautioning against excessive celebration and involvement in criminal activities.
The commissioner issued a stern warning to potential troublemakers, emphasizing the readiness of the command to decisively handle any breach of the law during the Yuletide period.
