The Commissioner of Police, CP, Umar Shehu Nadada has announced the deployment of 4,500 operatives across Nasarawa State to ensure the safety and security of residents during the Christmas and New Year celebrations.
The deployment is designed to bolster public safety and maintain peace during the Yuletide period.
Nadada stressed the importance of visibility policing, particularly at worship centers and recreational facilities, to ensure a secure environment for all.
In a statement signed by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, DSP Ramhan Nansel, Nadada outlined heightened security measures to be enforced on highways, with a focus on protecting travellers.
He said undercover police operatives have been assigned for covert operations to complement the visible police presence.
“Our priority is to provide a secure environment for everyone during this festive period,” Nadada stated.
He issued directives to all Area Commanders, Divisional Police Officers, and tactical team leaders to conduct raids in identified flashpoints, monitor activities related to cultism, and establish robust security measures in their respective areas of responsibility.
Nadada warned against any breach of security, emphasizing a zero-tolerance policy.
While extending greetings to Christian faithfuls, he urged the public to celebrate responsibly and remain vigilant.
