The Bauchi Sector Command of the Federal Road Safety Corps, FRSC, says it has deployed 640 personnel across the state, preparatory to the Christmas and new year celebrations.
The Sector Commander, Mr Patrick Ikaba, made this known in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria, NAN, on Friday in Bauchi.
He said 11 patrol vehicles and five ambulances had also been deployed to strategic locations in the state to enhance emergency response operations during the period.
Ikaba added that some 115 Officers, 360 Regular Marshals, 155 Special Marshals and 10 medical personnel had been provided with the necessary equipment for the operation.
The sector commander said, “our personnel had also been posted to some local government areas where we do not have offices.”
He said, “effective collaboration with other sister agencies remains paramount in accident prevention and implementation of robust safety measures.
“All markets on major highways will be removed using joint Tax Force and FRSC operatives.”
He, therefore, urged motorists and other road users to always obey traffic rules and regulations.
