The Yobe State Government has warned all the executive secretaries of agencies and 17 education secretaries of Local Education Authorities (LEA) under the Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education against laxity and impunity in discharging their assigned responsibilities.
The Commissioner for Basic and Secondary Education, Dr Muhammad Sani Idris, gave the warning at the state Education Council meeting with stakeholders in Damaturu, the state capital.
He said the people of the state expected nothing less than their utmost dedication and utilisation of their experience and energy to drive progress.
He added that education stakeholders must exert themselves, embrace patriotism, demonstrate selfless commitment, ensure fairness and justice, and avoid negligence and irresponsibility in fulfilling their public duties.
“Governor Mai Mala Buni’s administration is committed to addressing challenge of out-of-school children, improve educational outcomes, growth, and development”, he said.
The Commissioner assured the education secretaries that the state government would provide an enabling environment for them to operate optimally, stressing that the state would only accept tangible results.
