Yobe Govt doles out over N16m to EndSARS victims

As part of efforts to cushion the hardship being faced by the victims of End SARS protest, Yobe State Government has presented over sixteen million Naira as relief to members of the National Association of Transport Owners (NATO) Yobe State chapter.

Speaking while presenting the cash relief to the beneficiaries, the State Commissioner of Humanitarian Affairs and Disaster Management, Mairo Ahmed Amshi, said the state government, under the leadership of Governor Mai Mala Buni, is very firm in assisting victims of disasters in the state.

The commissioner further explained that the incident of EndSARS protest has affected many people within and outside the country, hence the need for such interventions from government and non-governmental organisations.

She noted that the state government is aware of the important role NARTO is playing in the economy of the state and the nation at large in the transport sector, hence urging the beneficiaries to utilise the cash donation given to them to revive their means of livelihood.

The State Chairman, National Association of Transport Owners (NATO) Yobe State chapter, Mohammed Umar, commended Governor Buni for the cash assistance to the victims of EndSARS protest that mostly affected their members and other numerous interventions to the association.
