Yobe State Governor, Mai Mala Buni, has expressed sadness over the death of an ex-governor of the state, Bukar Abba Ibrahim.
Ibrahim died in Saudi Arabia on Sunday.
Buni mourned Ibrahim in a statement signed by his spokesman, Mamman Mohammed, which was made available to newsmen on Sunday.
He described the former governor’s death as a huge loss to the government and people of the state.
“This is a huge loss for us at this time, but that is the wish of Allah, our creator, May Allah (SWT) forgive his shortcomings and admit him into Aljannatu Firdaus,” he prayed.
Buni directed that all aspects of the funeral and condolences will be taken over by the state government, to accord the late governor a state burial.
He called on the people and friends of Yobe State to pray for the repose of the soul of the former governor.
Meanwhile, condolences are to be received by the governor at the Government House Mosque (Masjid), Damaturu.
