This was disclosed in a statement by the Director of Defence Information, Brig Gen Tukur Gusau.<\/p>\n
The CDS hailed Ekpa\u2019s arrest by Finnish authorities, according to the statement.<\/p>\n
\u201cCDS is happy with his (Ekpa) arrest in Finland, with the hope this will be a step towards his extradition to Nigeria so that he will face justice,\u201d the statement said.<\/p>\n
DAILY POST recall that the Finland district court in Lahti had ordered the remand of Simon Ekpa on probable cause for public incitement to commit a crime with terrorist intent in Nigeria.<\/p>\n
Ekpa was accused of using social media platforms to spread separatist propaganda linked to the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, a group advocating for the secession of southeastern Nigeria.<\/p>\n
