President Bola Tinubu has directed that the Federal Executive Council meeting be postponed to another date which will be announced in due time.<\/p>\n
This was made known in a statement signed by Tinubu\u2019s spokesperson, Bayo Onanuga on Wednesday.<\/p>\n
The meeting which was initially scheduled for today was postponed in honour of Lt. General Taoreed Lagbaja, the Chief of Army Staff, who passed away on Tuesday night.<\/p>\n
The statement reads, \u201cPresident Bola Ahmed Tinubu, commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces, has rescheduled the Federal Executive Council meeting till another date to be announced.<\/p>\n
\u201cInitially scheduled for today, the council meeting was postponed in honour of Lt. General Taoreed Lagbaja, the Chief of Army Staff, who passed away on Tuesday night.<\/p>\n
\u201cGeneral Lagbaja served as the Chief of Army Staff from June 19, 2023, till his death on November 5, 2024.<\/p>\n
The President also ordered flags to be flown at half-mast nationwide for seven days in honour of the departed general.<\/p>\n
