The police boss confirmed this development to DAILY POST in a telephone conversation on Wednesday.<\/p>\n
DAILY POST had earlier reported a series of attacks on the students and locals of Ode Remo, Ipara, and Isara, all adjoining communities to the higher institution.<\/p>\n
In the latest attack on students last Saturday, the robbers shot dead a student, while nine others escaped with varying degrees of injuries from gunshots.<\/p>\n
According to the Commissioner of Police, operatives of the command in Remo North Division received a distress call on December 2, at about 3 am, that some armed robbers were on the rampage within their community.<\/p>\n
Following this report, the police later tracked a Lexus car stolen during the robbery to the Oke Itoku area of Abeokuta, the capital of the state, where it was recovered.<\/p>\n
According to CP Alamutu: \u201cAnother Lexus car, discovered to have been snatched at the Ajuwon area of the state by the same gang, was also recovered. Some members of the gang were later arrested through intelligence, while a member of another gang that robbed people of their phones at gunpoint was also nabbed.\u201d<\/p>\n
