The football governing body also disclosed that Andre-Pierre Gignac\u2019s free-kick goal in Round One of the 2024 CONCACAF Champions Cup has been selected by fans as the Goal of the Year.<\/p>\n
The CONCACAF official player awards programme saw Melchie and Adalberto selected based on a football-first voting system.<\/p>\n
It included the participation of coaches and players from CONCACAF member associations, as well as media members of the region and fans.<\/p>\n
The 2023\/24 season nominees included a list of six players in each category.<\/p>\n
All the players were selected based on performance statistics and the input of football experts.<\/p>\n
Reacting to Dumornay winning the CONCACAF Women\u2019s Player of the Year Award for 2023\/24, CONCACAF President Victor Montagliani said: \u201cOn behalf of CONCACAF, I congratulate Melchie as a very worthy winner of this award.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe have seen her tremendous rise in our confederation with her incredible skill and determination.\u201d<\/p>\n
On Carrasquilla winning the CONCACAF Men\u2019s Player of the Year Award for 2023\/24, Montagliani added: \u201cHe has driven Panama to the next level on the pitch, and I congratulate him as a very worthy CONCACAF Player of the Year. On behalf of CONCACAF, I congratulate Coco.\u201d<\/p>\n
