In a statement by the EFCC Spokesperson, Dele Oyewale, on Tuesday, the resolution was reached when the French Minister of Interior and Overseas, Laurent Baile, paid a courtesy visit on the EFCC Executive Chairman, Ola Olukoyede, at his office in Abuja.<\/p>\n
He noted that the French Ambassador called for joint investigations and intelligence sharing with the EFCC even as he expressed support to the anti-graft agency in fighting financial crimes and other forms of corruption in Nigeria.<\/p>\n
The statement states in parts, \u201cBaile congratulated Olukoyede on his appointment and sued for greater collaboration with the EFCC on modalities for tackling cybercrimes and associated criminalities. Discussions were also held on issues pertaining to joint investigations and intelligence sharing.\u201d<\/p>\n
Responding, the EFCC boss, Olukoyede, reiterated his commitment to driving the war against economic and financial crimes with the right focus.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe are determined to properly focus the mandate of the Commission on the overall interests of Nigerians. The overriding aim of fighting economic and financial crimes is to grow the economy, stimulate development, create jobs and remove bottlenecks against sustainable development.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe will be more professional in the way we do our jobs and we will adhere strictly to the rule of law\u201d, he said.<\/p>\n
