England\u2019s interim manager, Lee Carsley has suggested that Greece defeated his team 2-1 in the UEFA Nations League clash on Thursday because the Three Lions were the second best team during the encounter.<\/p>\n

Recall that Vangelis Pavlidis put Greece ahead before Jude Bellingham equalized for the hosts few minutes later.<\/p>\n

However, a late goal from Pavlidis gave Greece the victory over England at the Wembley Stadium.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think we were probably second best for a lot of tonight \u2026 it\u2019s disappointing,\u201d Carsley told ITV.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou are going to get setbacks \u2026 it\u2019s important we respond well against Finland.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe tried something different, overload the midfield. You have experimented with it and we are disappointed it didn\u2019t come off.\u201d<\/p>\n

He added, \u201cAll of the goals came from mistakes \u2026 even at 1-1 we were quite fortunate at that point \u2026 when you\u2019ve got someone of Harry Kane\u2019s quality, it rules [the new system] out \u2026 in the future we\u2019ve got to have that courage to try things.\u201d<\/p>\n
