Akwa United have urged the club supporters to exercise patience with the team.<\/p>\n
The Promise Keepers Chairman, Elder Paul Bassey made the call in a chat with the club\u2019s media on Wednesday.<\/p>\n
Akwa United are winless in five league outings this season.<\/p>\n
\u201cIf there is any time the club needs support, total support, it is now that we are struggling to overcome the hangover of last season,\u201d Bassey told Akwa United\u2019s media.<\/p>\n
\u201cOur players play well at away matches, only to be subjected to unnecessary pressure at home causing them to be anxious.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt is only in Uyo that a pocket of fans will start cheering the opposition few minutes into the match in a game where the outcome can only be known at the blast of the final whistle after 90 minutes\u201d the management noted.<\/p>\n
\u201cIn other climes, teams lose scandalously at home, yet come next week-end, not a single seat will be found empty in the stadium and some of us support these teams forever, through thick and thin.\u201d<\/p>\n
