A Lagos High Court Sitting in Ikeja has adjourned the arraignment and plea bargain outcome of convicted kidnap kingpin, Chukwudumeme Onwuamadike, popularly known as Evans till November 21.<\/p>\n

Hearing in the plea bargain application filed by the kidnap kingpin, could not proceed on Thursday due to the absence of the Evans and his counsel in court.<\/p>\n

The prosecution, the Lagos State Government was also absent.<\/p>\n

Evans and his co-defendant, Joseph Emekam are standing trial on a five-count charge bordering on conspiracy, kidnapping and attempted murder preferred against them by Lagos Government.<\/p>\n

At the last sitting of the court on May 11, the prosecution counsel, Yusuf Sule, told the court that the defendants had applied for a plea bargain agreement.<\/p>\n

He further revealed that the plea bargain terms were being considered by the Attorney-General of Lagos State, Lawal Pedro, SAN.<\/p>\n

However, when the case was brought up on Thursday, the counsel to Evans\u2019s co-defendant, Nelson Onyejaka, who was present in court, expressed surprise that the prosecution and the first defendant\u2019s counsel were absent.<\/p>\n

Justice Coker ordered that a production warrant be issued for the arraignment of the defendants on Nov. 21. She also adjourned for a report on the plea bargain outcome.<\/p>\n
