Faransa, who doubles as the chairman of the Special Task Force on Environmental Protection, Public Safety, and Prohibition of Deforestation, stated this on Wednesday during an engagement meeting with the Jalingo local government council task force team.<\/p>\n
While emphasising the importance of collective responsibility in protecting the state\u2019s natural resources, he reiterated the need to stop illegal mining and deforestation in the entire state.<\/p>\n
Highlighting the detrimental effects these activities have on human life and the environment, he vowed to work round the clock alongside his team to end illegal mining and deforestation in Taraba.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt is our collective responsibility to protect our environment against illegal miners and stop deforestation to prevent its adverse effects on humans,\u201d he stated.<\/p>\n
Soliciting support and cooperation from the people of the state irrespective of political, religious and tribal affiliations, he said the task of the committee is in the interest of Tarabans.<\/p>\n
He pleaded with the people of the state on the need to continue to support the current administration of Governor Agbu Kefas, particularly in the governor\u2019s efforts to combat illegal mining activities across the state.<\/p>\n
On his part, the team leader of the Jalingo Local Government Council task force, Aliyu A. Isa, commended the governor for reactivating the task force.<\/p>\n
He assured of the full support of the state\u2019s youth for the administration of Gov Kefas in achieving its environmental protection goals.<\/p>\n
