Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya of Gombe State is set to present the 2024 budget to the state House of Assembly on Monday, December 4, 2023, by 10 am.<\/p>\n
Ismaila Uba Misilli, Director General, Press Affairs, Government House, Gombe, said in a statement on Sunday, that ahead of this presentation, the state government took steps to ensure a comprehensive and inclusive budget formulation process by holding a town hall meeting where it gathered the insights, desires, and aspirations of the citizens for integration into the budget framework.<\/p>\n
According to the statement, the citizen engagement was hosted by the Ministry of Budget and Economic Planning in collaboration with the Ministry of Finance and Economic Development.<\/p>\n
\u201cTraditional rulers, community leaders, members of civil society organisations, and people with special needs, among others, participated in the consultative meeting,\u201d it said.<\/p>\n
The proposed budget, as the statement emphasised, underwent rigorous assessment and discussion by the Gombe State Executive Council.<\/p>\n
The statement further described Governor Inuwa\u2019s budget presentation as the culmination of concerted efforts and a reflection of transparency, public participation, and governmental diligence in addressing the state\u2019s fiscal priorities for the upcoming year.<\/p>\n
