Abodunrin, whose address was not provided, is facing a three-count charge of fraud, stealing and breach of peace.<\/p>\n
He pleaded not guilty to the charges.<\/p>\n
The Prosecutor, ASP Clement Okuoimose told the court that the defendant committed the offences on Aug. 2, 2023, at Owode Plank Market, Luri Bus stop, Badagry, Lagos.<\/p>\n
Okuoimose said that the defendant obtained N1.8 million from the complainant, Mr Kasim Saka, to help him buy some planks from Ondo State but failed to do so.<\/p>\n
He said that the defendant converted the money to his personal use.<\/p>\n
Okuoimose said the defendant conducted himself in a manner likely to cause a breach of the peace by fraudulently obtaining the money from the complainant.<\/p>\n
The Chief Magistrate, Mr A. J. Aina granted the defendant bail in the sum of N500,000 with two sureties in like sum.<\/p>\n
Aina said the sureties must reside within the court\u2019s jurisdiction and provide evidence of tax payment to the Lagos State Government.<\/p>\n
He adjourned the case until November 11 for mention, NAN reports.<\/p>\n
