The governor made the appeal during the conclusion of a four-day capacity training program held at the 72 Special Forces Battalion in Makurdi, the state capital.<\/p>\n
Alia urged the operatives of NHFSS to leverage the training they received to sharpen their skills in addressing the security challenges facing the state.<\/p>\n
While encouraging them to work in tandem with existing security agencies, the governor emphasized the importance of making their presence felt while respecting the human rights of law-abiding citizens.<\/p>\n
Alia stated that relative peace had returned to the state.<\/p>\n
\u201cI am sure that the capacity training you have received from men of the 72 Special Forces Battalion has sharpened your skills to face the task ahead.<\/p>\n
\u201cI also urge you to make yourselves visible and complement the efforts of other security agencies in crime fighting and above all, respect the human rights of law-abiding citizens,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
Joseph Har, the governor\u2019s Special Adviser on security and internal matters, commended the active presence of NHFSS operatives in the state.<\/p>\n
The State Commander of NHFSS, Peter Ajonya, in his response, expressed appreciation for the capacity training provided by the 72 Special Forces Battalion.<\/p>\n
He also thanked the governor, traditional rulers, and others for their assistance and support, emphasizing the collaborative effort required to ensure the success of the NHFSS in contributing to the state\u2019s security.<\/p>\n
