Chido Obi-Martin has decided to join Manchester United after leaving Arsenal.<\/p>\n

It has now emerged that former United striker, Ruud van Nistelrooy, played a crucial part in the transfer.<\/p>\n

Football transfer expert, Fabrizio Romano, claims Van Nistelrooy presented the club\u2019s long-term project to Obi-Martin.<\/p>\n

Romano tweeted: \u201cUnderstand Ruud van Nistelrooy held direct talks with Chido Obi-Martin to present him Man United project for long term.<\/p>\n

\u201cVan Nistelrooy, crucial to get the green light from Chido as deal is done and set to be signed.\u201d<\/p>\n

Obi-Martin, 16, leaves Arsenal after his contract expired in June.<\/p>\n

A new deal with the Gunners had been agreed but he wanted to move on because he had doubts over his potential pathway into first team football and the club\u2019s project.<\/p>\n
