The International Testing Agency, ITA, on Saturday disclosed it has provisionally suspended Nigerian lightweight boxer, Cynthia Ogunsemilore.<\/p>\n

This was after Ogunsemilore tested positive for a banned substance.<\/p>\n

The suspension has come ahead of her opening fight at the Paris 2024 Olympics.<\/p>\n

Ogunsemilore tested positive for furosemide, a diuretic on WADA\u2019s prohibited list, in an out-of-competition doping control collected on Thursday.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe athlete has been informed of the case and has been provisionally suspended until the resolution of the matter in line with the World Anti-Doping Code and the International Olympic Committee (IOC) Anti-Doping Rules,\u201d the ITA said.<\/p>\n

Ogunsemilore is now prevented from competing in training, coaching, or participating in any activity, during the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, a huge blow for Team Nigeria.<\/p>\n
