The Police on Friday arraigned a 19-year-old man, Karim Sodiq, before an Ona-Ara Magistrates\u2019 Court, Ibadan, for allegedly stealing a cell phone inside a mosque.<\/p>\n

Sodiq, whose address was not provided, was charged with stealing and house breaking, to which he, however, pleaded not guilty.<\/p>\n

The Prosecutor, Insp Adeshina Folaranmi, told the court that the defendant committed the offences on May 21, at about 7.50 p.m. at Oju-Aba Mosque, Moniya area of Ibadan.<\/p>\n

Folaranmi said that the defendant constructively broke into the mosque and stole an Infinix smart 6 phone, worth N100,000, belonging to one Akorede Suliyat.<\/p>\n

He said that the offences contravened Sections 415 and 390(9) of the Criminal Laws of Oyo State, 2000.<\/p>\n

The Magistrate, Mr Ayorinde Ayo-Alagbe, granted the defendant bail in the sum of N200,000, with two reliable sureties in like sum.<\/p>\n

He adjourned the case till Aug. 15 for hearing. (NAN)<\/p>\n
