This was made known in a statement issued on Thursday by the command\u2019s Public Relations Officer, ASP Nahum Kenneth Daso, which also indicated that the decision was taken at the Borno State Security Council based on the security challenges in the state.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe Command has observed the flagrant use of motorcycles, especially electric bikes, in the state and wishes to remind the general public that the ban on motorcycles in the state still exists,\u201d the statement said.<\/p>\n
The statement advised people in the state to adhere to this order, adding that any person found in possession of electric or petrol-powered motorbikes would be arrested for violating the order.<\/p>\n
The statement further warned filling stations to desist from selling petroleum products to customers on motorcycles.<\/p>\n
\u201cAny filling station found selling petrol to motorcyclists will be sanctioned and sealed for prosecution,\u201d it said.<\/p>\n
It also advised delivery and logistic companies to use tricycles (Keke Napep) to carry out their operations in the state.<\/p>\n
The command in the statement sought the cooperation of members of the general public for sustainable peace and security in the state.<\/p>\n
