England legend, Alan Shearer, has recommended that his country picks Newcastle United manager, Eddie Howe as the replacement for Gareth Southgate.<\/p>\n

According to Shearer, the Newcastle boss is the perfect replacement for Southgate as England manager.<\/p>\n

This is following England\u2019s 2-1 loss to Spain in the final of Euro 2024.<\/p>\n

Southgate is widely expected to leave the managerial position of his country.<\/p>\n

Shearer told The Rest is Football podcast that Howe would be a fitting replacement for Southgate.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere\u2019s no doubt he\u2019ll be in the bet [to become next England manager if Southgate leaves] because he\u2019s done a great job at Newcastle. He plays that type of football [we all want],\u201d Shearer said<\/p>\n

\u201cHe would, without doubt, be an outstanding candidate [for the job]. But we wouldn\u2019t want to lose him at Newcastle.\u201d<\/p>\n
