Captain of the Netherlands, Virgil van Dijk, has hit out at the reaction of referee, Felix Zwayer following their 2-1 defeat to England in their Euro 2024 semi-final on Wednesday evening.<\/p>\n

The Dutch lost the game despite taking the lead through Xavi Simons.<\/p>\n

Harry Kane equalized from the spot, before Ollie Watkins scored in the 90th minute.<\/p>\n

Kane\u2019s penalty was awarded after Denzel Dumfries attempted to block a shot but ended up clipping the England captain on the foot.<\/p>\n

The VAR team recommended referee Zwayer to review his decision and the German official opted to award Gareth Southgate\u2019s side a penalty.<\/p>\n

When asked about Zwayer\u2019s performance, Van Dijk told beIN Sports: \u201cI don\u2019t know what to say, I don\u2019t know if I should say something about this.<\/p>\n

\u201cBut I think it says it all that the referee went in quite quickly after the game, and had no time to shake his hand.\u201d<\/p>\n
