\u201cThe entire sum in the Federation Account must be distributed among all levels of government without deductions, except as permitted by law,\u201d the government insists, according to a statement released Wednesday evening by Governor Ahmadu Fintiri\u2019s Chief Press Secretary, Humwashi Wonosikou.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe President must comply strictly with the Constitution in managing and distributing revenue,\u201d the Adamawa State Government stressed, adding, \u201call revenue collected, except those exempted by the Constitution, must be paid into the Federation Account for distribution to all tiers of government.\u201d<\/p>\n
The state government said it is seeking a declaration from the Supreme Court that any deductions or withholdings made without constitutional backing be declared unconstitutional.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe Federal Government\u2019s discretion to manage revenue is limited to only what is expressly permitted by the Constitution,\u201d the government stated.<\/p>\n
It added that it is seeking a strict interpretation of the Constitution to ensure that revenue distribution should be without arbitrary deductions or withholdings by the Federal Government.<\/p>\n
