A clergyman, Ekejiuba George on Tuesday appeared before a Magistrate\u2019s Court in Gwagwalada, FCT, for allegedly enticing a married woman.<\/p>\n

The defendant, who pleaded not guilty, was charged with enticing a married woman.<\/p>\n

The Magistrate, Olatunji Oladunmoye, admitted him to bail in the sum of N100,000 with one reasonable surety in like sum, ordering that the surety must reside within the court\u2019s jurisdiction and adjourned the case until July 22, for hearing.<\/p>\n

Counsel to the complainant, Eze Osinachi, had informed the court that his client, Mr Chika Nwafor is a pastor within the jurisdiction of the court.<\/p>\n

According to him, the complainant had alleged that the defendant was in the habit of enticing his wife, Mrs Blessing Nwafor, since they got married, regardless of several warnings and pleadings to him.<\/p>\n

Osinachi further alleged that the defendant usually calls the complainant\u2019s wife at midnight, and sometimes the complainant\u2019s wife would go outside and have a conversation with him (the defendant).<\/p>\n

\u201cThe defendant and the complainant\u2019s wife exchange pictures of each other via their WhatsApp and have been spotted in some places at odd hours of the day.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe defendant has been doing everything humanly possible to cause a breakup in the marriage between the complainant and his wife as he constantly incites the complainant\u2019s wife against the complainant.<\/p>\n

\u201cIn spite of the interventions of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), and the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN) of Tunga Maje, the defendant has not stopped enticing the complainant\u2019s wife and interfering in their marriage,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Osinachi said the complainant wants the court to compel the defendant to stop enticing his wife and interfering in his marriage, adding that the offence violates the provisions of Section 389 of the Penal Code.<\/p>\n
