Portugal goalkeeper, Diogo Costa has said he understood how frustrated captain Cristiano Ronaldo was following his penalty miss against Slovenia in the Euro 2024 Round of 16 clash on Monday.<\/p>\n

Portugal defeated Slovenia 3-0 on penalties shootout, thanks to Costa\u2019s three penalty saves.<\/p>\n

Ronaldo had missed a penalty in extra time during the encounter against Slovenia.<\/p>\n

Speaking after the game, Costa said at his post-match interview: \u201cWe all know that Cristiano is the hardest worker.<\/p>\n

\u201cI understand how frustrated he is because he devotes all his time to this. It\u2019s a pleasure and an honour to be on the same team as him.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are a family, I really think this. I focused on making the best of these chances and I wanted to help the team. This is the most important thing.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis is probably the best game of my life.\u201d<\/p>\n

Portugal will now face France in the Euro 2024 last-8.<\/p>\n
