Liverpool legend, Jamie Carragher, has urged England manager Gareth Southgate to \u2018sacrifice\u2019 both Phil Foden and Trent Alexander-Arnold for the Three Lions\u2019 final group game against Slovenia at Euro 2024.<\/p>\n
This comes after England struggled to play a 1-1 draw against Denmark on Thursday.
\nEngland will now face Slovenia in their last match in Group C on Tuesday.<\/p>\n
They currently top the Group with four points and need a win or a draw against Slovenia to qualify for the Round of 16.<\/p>\n
Writing in his column for The Telegraph, Carragher said: \u201cUnfortunately, two of the best Premier League footballers \u2013 Trent Alexander-Arnold and Phil Foden \u2013 will have to be sacrificed now.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe team\u2019s set-up is not getting the best from them, or their team-mates. Introducing Alexander-Arnold into midfield in a major tournament was always a risk. It has not worked.\u201d<\/p>\n
Speaking on the wingers that should pair with Harry Kane up front, Carragher added, \u201cI would like to see a 4-3-3 with Saka and Anthony Gordon either side of Kane.\u201d<\/p>\n
