Jadon Sancho told Erik ten Hag that Manchester United \u201chad bought the wrong player\u201d, as both men clashed over his role in the team, according to The Athletic.<\/p>\n

Sancho signed for the Red Devils in a \u00a373 million transfer from Borussia Dortmund in July 2021.<\/p>\n

However, the winger didn\u2019t enjoy a good first season at Old Trafford, with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer fired just four months after his arrival.<\/p>\n

Sancho was frozen out of United\u2019s first team since September and eventually shipped out on loan to Borussia Dortmund in January.<\/p>\n

However, tension between Sancho and Ten Hag had been brewing before then.<\/p>\n

For the start of Ten Hag\u2019s first season, Sancho started on the right wing as United lost to Brighton at home, before they lost 4-0 away to Brentford.<\/p>\n

It was after the loss to Brentford that Sancho told Ten Hag that United had \u201cbought the wrong player\u201d, as he preferred to play on the left.<\/p>\n

The player\u2019s reluctance to play on the right wing led to Ten Hag\u2019s demand for the club to sign Antony from Ajax for \u00a386 million.<\/p>\n
