The Delta State Commissioner of Police Special Team, led by ASP Julius Robinson, arrested a 52-year-old accountant of the Polytechnic, Oghara, Ethiope-West Local Government Area, Chief Oviri Onorigho, at his residence on Friday around 1130hrs.<\/p>\n

The police also recovered one Baretta pistol loaded with four rounds of live ammunition.<\/p>\n

Delta State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Bright Edafe confirmed the report in a statement signed and made available to our correspondent in Warri.<\/p>\n

He said, \u201cA search warrant was executed in his residence during which one Baretta pistol loaded with four rounds of live ammunition was recovered.\u201d<\/p>\n

According to SP Edafe,\u201dThe suspect was immediately arrested.\u201d<\/p>\n

He also said, \u201cPreliminary investigation revealed that he is suspected to be a member of Aiye confraternity.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe suspect stated that he bought the gun from one Morrison (at large) for N250,000 and that it was for his protection.\u201d<\/p>\n

He said the suspect is in custody and the investigation is ongoing.<\/p>\n
