The United States of America has expressed concerns over Israel\u2019s growing diplomatic isolation.<\/p>\n

Israel is being isolated among countries that have traditionally supported it, according to President Joe Biden\u2019s national security adviser, Jake Sullivan.<\/p>\n

Sullivan said this in Wednesday\u2019s press briefing at a White House following Ireland, Spain and Norway\u2019s decision to formally recognize Palestine as a state next week.<\/p>\n

Also recall a decision by the International Criminal Court, ICC, to seek an arrest warrant for Israel\u2019s prime minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, over Israeli actions in Gaza.<\/p>\n

Asked if he was concerned about Israel\u2019s diplomatic isolation, Sullivan said, \u201cAs a country that stands strong in defense of Israel in international forums like the United Nations, we certainly have seen a growing chorus of voices, including voices that had previously been in support of Israel, drift in another direction.<\/p>\n

\u201cThat is of concern to us because we do not believe that that contributes to Israel\u2019s long-term security or vitality \u2026 So that\u2019s something we have discussed with the Israeli government.\u201d<\/p>\n
