\n
A Rivers State High Court sitting in Port Harcourt has adjourned the murder trial of Damian Okoligwe, a 400-level student of Petrochemical Engineering at the University of Port Harcourt, to June 7th, 21st, and 27th, 2024.<\/p>\n
Okoligwe is accused of killing his girlfriend, Justina Otuene, a 300-level student of Biochemistry at the same university.<\/p>\n
He was arrested and paraded by the Rivers State Police Command in 2023, after allegedly attempting to dispose of Otuene\u2019s remains, which were reportedly found in his apartment.<\/p>\n
During the trial on Friday, the prosecution counsel, O.C. Mbaba, applied for a motion to amend the information before the court, which was granted by the trial judge, Justice Chinwe Nsirim.<\/p>\n
Justice Nsirim subsequently adjourned the proceedings to June 7th, 21st, and 27th, 2024, to allow the prosecution counsel to amend the charge and commence the full trial.<\/p>\n
