The Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC, has assured that it would provide necessary assistance to victims of the recent tanker explosion at Eleme, Rivers State.<\/p>\n
The Representative of Rivers State of the NDDC Board, Tony Okocha gave the assurance on behalf of the Commission during a media briefing in Port Harcourt.<\/p>\n
He sympathized with the victims of the incident, which resulted in the loss of lives and property worth billions of naira, and prayed for the speedy recovery of those injured.<\/p>\n

He also cautioned truck drivers plying that route to always drive with caution, considering the nature of the road, which is undergoing construction work.<\/p>\n
Okocha commended President Bola Tinubu and Minister of Works, Dave Umahi, for the quality and standard of the job that is being done on the East-West road.<\/p>\n
DAILY POST reports that the tanker fire incident killed scores of people and burnt over 100 vehicles.<\/p>\n
