Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State has approved the declaration of Friday, April 26, 2024, as a half-working day for all public and civil servants in the state.<\/p>\n
The declaration was made because of the forthcoming local government election in the state.<\/p>\n
DAILY POST reports that the Oyo State Independent Electoral Commission, OYSIEC, had earlier fixed the local government election for Saturday, April 27, 2024.<\/p>\n
A circular signed by the Secretary to the State Government, Professor Olanike Adeyemo, stated that government offices are to close by noon on Friday.<\/p>\n
She added that personnel covering essential services are expected to remain at their duty posts.<\/p>\n
The statement enjoined all public and civil servants to go out and exercise their civic rights on the day of the election.<\/p>\n
The statement said: \u201cOyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, has approved the declaration of Friday, April 26, 2024, as a half working day for all public and civil servants in the state.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis is in connection with the local government election slated for Saturday, April 27, 2024.\u201d<\/p>\n
