Iran\u2019s Foreign Minister, Hossein Amir-Abdullahi, has said the first attack on Israel was a warning.<\/p>\n
Amir-Abdullahi said Iran could decide to attack Israel\u2019s cities of Tel Aviv, Haifa and its economic ports.<\/p>\n
He spoke with NBC News\u2019 Tom Llamas, on Friday on the sidelines of the United Nations Security Council in the United States, US.<\/p>\n
Amir-Abdullahi said Iran was not planning to respond unless Israel launched a significant attack.<\/p>\n
He said: \u201cWe could have hit Haifa and Tel Aviv.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe could have also targeted all the economic ports of Israel.<\/p>\n
\u201cBut our red lines were civilians.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe only had a military purpose.<\/p>\n
\u201cAs long as there is no new adventurism by Israel against our interests, then we are not going to have any new reactions.<\/p>\n
\u201cIf Israel takes decisive action against my country, this is proven to us.<\/p>\n
\u201cOur response will be immediate and to the maximum and will cause them to regret it.\u201d<\/p>\n
He also likened the weapons used in attacking his country to children\u2019s toys.<\/p>\n
Amir-abdollahian\u2019s remark is coming amid reports of Israel carrying out a retaliatory attack on Iran.<\/p>\n
Last weekend, Iran shot a barrage of drones and missiles towards Israel in retaliation for the April 1 attack in Damascus, Syria that killed some of its generals.<\/p>\n
However, the Iranian Foreign Minister didn\u2019t confirm that Israel was behind the recent attack on Iran.<\/p>\n
\u201cWhat happened last night was not a strike.<\/p>\n
\u201cThey were more like toys that our children play with \u2013 not drones,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
