The Labour Party, LP, has threatened to declare vacant seats of the Enugu State lawmakers who want to defect to the ruling Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.<\/p>\n
The Enugu State LP Chairman, Casmir Agbo, issued the threat on Tuesday in a post on his Facebook page.<\/p>\n
DAILY POST reports that the State government is under the control of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, which won the March 18 gubernatorial election.<\/p>\n
DAILY POST gathered there are ongoing political manoeuvrings and plans by some members of the house to shift camp to the ruling PDP.<\/p>\n
However, Agbo is now saying that the party was aware of the antics of some LP members of HOA who want to decamp to PDP.<\/p>\n

DAILY POST reports that the PDP controls the leadership of the State legislature even though it produced fewer seats in the house.<\/p>\n
Recall that the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, had in its released list after the 2023 general election said the party secured 14 seats out of the 24 seats.<\/p>\n
INEC\u2019s Head of Voter Education and Publicity in Enugu State, Rex Achumie, issued the list detailing the names, constituencies, parties and number of votes scored by the members-elect at the March 18 election.<\/p>\n
According to the commission, the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has the remaining 10 seats.<\/p>\n
