Troops of the Joint Task Force North West, Operation Hadarin Daji, OPHD, have neutralized scores of terrorists and rescued eight kidnap victims in Zamfara State.<\/p>\n

DAILY POST gathered that most of the terrorists\u2019 camps were destroyed during the operation in the Bayan Ruwa area of the state.<\/p>\n

According to a statement issued on Wednesday in Gusau, the spokesman of the Operation Hadarin Daji, OPHD, Lieutenant Suleiman Omale, the troops recorded successes against the ravaging bandits in the state.<\/p>\n

\u201cThese were achieved in continuation with the dry season clearance operations in the state\u201d, the statement said.<\/p>\n

\u201cIn the recent success, the troops rescued eight kidnapped victims in an ambush operation conducted in the state.<\/p>\n

\u201cOn the 28th February 2024, the OPHD troops during its continuous clearance operation at the terrorists\u2019 enclaves at Bayan Ruwa axis which is presumed to be a crossing point of the terrorist in the state.\u201d<\/p>\n

The OPHD\u2019S spokesman further stated that during the operation, the troops engaged the terrorists in a heavy gun duel during which the hoodlums fled in disarray and abandoned their captors.<\/p>\n

\u201cHence the troops\u2019 timely and prompt response led to the rescue of eight kidnapped victims unhurt.\u201d<\/p>\n

He added that the troops destroyed the terrorists\u2019 enclaves and dominated the area with aggressive and confidence-building patrol.<\/p>\n

\u201cAll the rescued victims were handed over to the appropriate authorities to reunite them with their respective families,\u201d the statement said.<\/p>\n

The Commander, Joint Task Force North West, Operation Hadarin Daji, General Officer Commanding, 8 Division, Nigerian Army, Major General Godwin Mutkut, commended the efforts of the troops for their continued doggedness and resilience in an effort to restore normalcy in the North West.<\/p>\n

He called on the people to continue giving support to the troops by providing timely information on terrorists\u2019 hideouts for prompt action.<\/p>\n
