They made this known in Umuahia after a delegation of the Nigerian Professional Football League (NPFL) carried out inspection on the newly rehabilitated Umuahia stadium.<\/p>\n
The NPFL delegation was led to Umuahia by Mr Perilla Aboro, who went round the stadium to inspect the condition of the grass on the pitch.<\/p>\n
Speaking after the inspection exercise, Aboro expressed satisfaction with the level of improvement recorded in the stadium\u2019s natural grass and promised to make his findings known to NPFL.<\/p>\n
Though no statement has been issued by the NPFL on whether the stadium would be unbanned or not, officials and fans of Abia Warriors have expressed the hope that the team may soon be allowed to return to Umuahia to play their home matches.<\/p>\n
The Chairman of the club, John Obuh, who led the NPFL delegation round the pitch, said that the club engaged experts to rehabilitate the playing turf.<\/p>\n
He urged NPFL to lift the sanction placed on the stadium.<\/p>\n
Also, the Chief coach of Abia Warriors FC, Erasmus Onu and some supporters of the club who were present during the inspection, said the team would have defeated Remo Stars had it played in front of its home supporters in Umuahia.<\/p>\n
