William Troost-Ekong is optimistic the Super Eagles will come back stronger after failing to win a fourth Africa Cup of Nations title in Cote d\u2019Ivoire.<\/p>\n
The Super Eagles lost 2-1 to the hosts in the final of the competition on Sunday night.<\/p>\n
Troost-Ekong, who expressed his disappointment on the team\u2019s defeat to the Elephants, also thanked the fans for their support.<\/p>\n
\u201cNaija thank you! I love you. No words can justify the feeling of losing a final. I\u2019m proud of our team, our nation, our spirit; heads up, keep trying, we will soar again. Congratulations CIV,\u201d the defender wrote on his official X handle.<\/p>\n
The centre-back finished the competition as Nigeria\u2019s joint-top scorer with three goals.<\/p>\n
The 30-year-old was also named Player of the Tournament.<\/p>\n
