President Bola Tinubu said his government will do everything possible to expand food production and become a net exporter amid rising hunger and hardship in Nigeria.<\/p>\n

Ajuri Ngelale, Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, disclosed this in a statement on Sunday after a delegation from the Global Tijaniyya Movement, led by Khalifa Muhammad Mahe Niass, visited Tinubu at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.<\/p>\n

The President said his administration would support plans and efforts to give ease and assistance to Hajj pilgrims.<\/p>\n

He emphasised the importance of spiritual endeavours in nation-building, underscoring his administration\u2019s commitment to supporting religious activities.<\/p>\n

He highlighted the need for collaboration between political and spiritual leaders to advance the nation\u2019s interests and promote unity among the people.<\/p>\n

On agriculture, the President outlined plans to bolster agricultural productivity through various initiatives, including expanding farmlands, providing low-interest loans to farmers, and significant investments in irrigation infrastructure.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are dedicated to equipping hospitals with modern equipment, providing healthcare professionals with training, and ensuring social welfare for every citizen, including comprehensive health insurance coverage.<\/p>\n

\u201cNigeria will become a net exporter of food. We are bringing thousands of tractors. Food production will be greatly expanded through aggressive mechanisation. We must be productive as a people. That is the Sunnah and the principles I grew up understanding,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Sheikh Mahe Niass, the Khalifa of Tijaniyya, speaking on behalf of the delegation, commended Tinubu for his unwavering commitment to Nigeria\u2019s peace, progress, and stability.<\/p>\n

He expressed confidence in the President\u2019s leadership and conveyed the emotional support and prayers of the Global Tijaniyya Movement members to the Nigerian leader.<\/p>\n
