Super Eagles defender, Semi Ajayi has disclosed that he was not present for head coach Jose Peseiro\u2019s post-game team talk after Nigeria defeated South Africa in the semi-final of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations tie on Wednesday because he was being drug tested by Confederation of African Football, (CAF) officials shortly after the match.<\/p>\n
Recall that the West Brom star was one of the standout players as Super Eagles defeated the Bafana Bafana via penalty shootout after the game ended in a 1-1 draw after 120 minutes.<\/p>\n
Speaking to reporters in the mixed zone after the game, Ajayi said:<\/p>\n
\u201cI was not there [Peseiro\u2019s team talk], I was getting tested so I missed everything,\u201d he remarked.<\/p>\n
He added, \u201cAmazing. We came here to win, we are one step away from that now.<\/p>\n
\u201cAs much as we need to enjoy today we need to fully focus on Sunday because we\u2019ve got one last push to bring the Cup home to Nigeria.\u201d<\/p>\n
