The All Progressives Congress, APC in Osun State has appealed to President Bola Tinubu to intervene in a crisis brewing in the state.<\/p>\n

This is as the party condemned the suspension of the installation processes of Aree of Iree and Owa of Igbajo.<\/p>\n

DAILY POST recalled that on Thursday, January 18, 2024, the Osun State Government through a White Paper ordered the suspension of the installation processes of the traditional rulers and called for fresh selection processes.<\/p>\n

The State Government also directed that the selection processes of the Akirun of Ikinrun and Alawo of Awo be suspended until the final determination of cases in court.<\/p>\n

Addressing journalists on Monday in Osogbo, Osun APC chairman, Tajudeen Lawal, also called on security agencies and prominent Yoruba monarchs to come to the aid of its members who, he alleged, are being harassed by the state government over the White Paper.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe White Paper issued a couple of days ago is a mere smokescreen designed to divert the attention of the public from asking pertinent questions regarding the looting carnival and grossly irresponsible conduct of the mediocre and political charlatans in the seat of power in Abere.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Task Force, secretly set up by Governor Adeleke and peopled by the PDP thugs and notorious criminals on the wanted list of the police, to forcefully retrieve some vehicles duly approved for past government functionaries, is to provoke our law-abiding citizens, injure them and precipitate violence in the state.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe decision of Governor Adeleke to single out some traditional rulers for punishment on mere presumption that they are political adversaries is petty, divisive and ungodly. No genuine leader engages in such a destructive tactics to govern his subjects.\u201d<\/p>\n

Lawal described the cancellation of the selection processes.<\/p>\n

\u201cThat is subjudice. That makes the governor a judge in his own case.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe reactions of the indigenes of the affected towns leave much to be desired and if not well managed, could cause a monumental breakdown of law and order.<\/p>\n

\u201cGovernor Ademola Adeleke should save the state of impending mayhem by reverting to status quo ante, pending the outcome of the law suits instituted by the affected parties,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n
