The All Progressives Congress, APC in Osun State has rejected the state government White Paper directing that political appointees in the Adegboyega Oyetola administration return government assets and official vehicles made away after leaving office.<\/p>\n

The Osun APC also accused the Ademola Adeleke-led administration of an orchestrated plan to promote turmoil across the state.<\/p>\n

The party insisted that the action is with a view to getting at the opposition members and leaders through extrajudicial means.<\/p>\n

In a statement by Tajudeen Lawal, the Osun APC and obtained by DAILY POST on Saturday, the party said, \u201cInformation has it that it was in preparation for the skillfully planned cross-state crises that prompted Governor Adeleke to set up a phoney asset recovery squad a few days ago following the outcome of one of his Executive Orders.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt was gathered that the composition of the questionable asset recovery squad are notorious PDP hoodlums who have been delegated to move around the state to attack, molest and possibly kill the APC members under the guise of recovering government property from them.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt was also learnt that some of the members of the APC Media Clusters who, on social media, have been critical and consistently exposing the corruption-loving and mediocre government of the Adeleke administration have also been slated for abduction by the government asset recovery squad.<\/p>\n

\u201cStrong intelligence revealed that some conventional security officers have been equally recruited by the government to join in carrying out the devilish assignment.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Osun APC Chairman urged security outfits in the state to be wary of the plots of the state government to engage their men and officers for unconstitutional operations.<\/p>\n

He also held that such conspiracies were capable of rocking the peace of the state.<\/p>\n

Lawal also stated that Governor Ademola Adeleke and his co-travellers should be held responsible for any form of breakdown of law and order in the state.<\/p>\n

On Thursday, the Osun State Government, in a white paper, directed the setting up of a task force for the recovery of government vehicles carted away by officials of the Gboyega Oyetola administration.<\/p>\n

On November 27, 2022, the state governor, Ademola Adeleke, had, on assumption of office, issued an Executive Order calling for the return of those vehicles and looted government assets.<\/p>\n

Within days, a committee was constituted with the task of coming up with a white paper on the next action of government with regards to the issue.<\/p>\n
