\n
A policeman on stop-and-search duty was crushed to death by a trailer driver in Ringim Local Government, Jigawa State.<\/p>\n
A family source, Malam Aminu, told DAILY POST that the incident happened on Tuesday evening, along Kano-Hadejia road in Ringim town.<\/p>\n
He said the incident happened when the police officer, identified as Abba Safiyanu, popularly known as Abba Wise, along with his colleagues, tried to stop the trailer driver at a check point but he refused.<\/p>\n
Aminu said the driver of the vehicle had run away and the victim was rushed to the hospital where he was confirmed dead.<\/p>\n
He said the deceased was one of the newly recruited police officers and was buried according to Islamic rights.<\/p>\n
Spokesman of the Jigawa State Police Command, DSP. Lawan Shiisu Adam, said he is yet to receive any information on the case and promised to give details later.<\/p>\n
