Winter Youth Olympic Games: Nigeria makes history as six athletes compete in Curling

Nigeria is participating at the ongoing Winter Youth Olympic Games in Gangwon, South Korea.

This marks the first-ever appearance of Nigeria in the history of the Winter Youth Olympics.

With a delegation of six athletes competing in curling, Nigeria became the first African country to qualify for the Winter Youth Olympics.

This was disclosed in a statement signed on Monday by the Media Office of the Honourable Minister of Sports Development, Sen. John Owan Enoh.

Nigeria’s journey in Curling began back in 2018 when the country became the first African member of World Curling, setting the stage for the emergence of new talents in the sport.

The Winter Youth Olympic Games will run from January 19 to February 1, 2024.
