Why cooking gas prices reducing in Nigeria – Marketers

Nigerian Association of Liquefied Petroleum Gas Marketers has said the federal government’s ban on the export of Liquefied Petroleum Gas has crashed the price of the product.

NALPGAM, Oladapo Olatunbosun disclosed this in a recent statement when he led the Association on a courtesy visit to the Minister of Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Gas, Ekperikpe Ekpo, in Abuja.

According to him, the price of LPG has dropped to N1,100 per litre from N1500 before the ban on the product export.

According to him, Nigerians who abandoned their gas cylinders due to high prices have returned to them due to price reduction.

“Today we say thank you because the ban on LPG export has made a lot of changes in the market and consumers can testify to this.

“People who abandoned their gas cylinders due to price hikes are coming back and we are confident that by the time the naira gains more weight, consumers will enjoy the better price of LPG.”

The development comes as Ekpo in February 2024 said the government has ordered LPG producers from exporting the commodity.
